Wall ovens are not better than range ovens, but they are different. Slightly. In this blog article, let’s take a look at how wall ovens are similar or different than range ovens.

Range Ovens

Range ovens are ovens that are below a cooktop, and the cooktop and oven are sold as one unit. These types of ovens can be gas or electric, and they come in several widths.

Usually, there is one range oven below the range, but sometimes there are two. When there are two oven, they are usually side by side with one being full sized and the other much smaller.

The biggest difference between range ovens and wall ovens is their placement, which is below counter level. This means that you always have to bend down to access the oven.

Some cooks prefer having the oven so close to the cooktop, but others do not like having to bend down.

Wall Ovens

Wall ovens can be placed at any height suitable for the cook, but they are usually higher than range ovens. Wall ovens can be single or double. When they are double, one oven sits on top of the other oven.

These types of ovens can be different widths just like with range ovens. Aside from the height location, the big advantage of having a double (wall) oven is that you have two full-sized ovens at your disposal.

Also, wall ovens can be placed anywhere in the kitchen and do not have to be anywhere near the cooktop unless that is what you want.

So, you can see that wall ovens are not better than range ovens, they just are slightly different. What you choose for your kitchen is personal choice based on your own cooking habits. It is always possible to have a range, range oven, and an additional wall oven.
